myheirlum.com is operated by 108 North, LLC, doing business as Heirlūm ("Heirlūm," "we," "us," "our"). This Disclaimer applies to our website, emails, free and paid guides, courses, workshops, consulting and coaching services (together, the "Services"). It is part of our Terms & Conditions.
1. Not legal, tax, financial, insurance or medical advice
Heirlūm is not a law firm, accounting firm, financial advisor, insurance agency or health care provider. No one at Heirlūm acts as your attorney, tax professional, financial or investment advisor, insurance agent, or medical professional.
Our Services provide general education and help you organize information. They are not advice about your situation. Laws differ by state and change over time. Talk with a licensed professional before you act on anything that affects your legal, tax, financial, insurance or medical position.
2. What Heirlūm does and does not do
Heirlūm does:
- Explain continuity-planning concepts in plain language
- Help you organize where things are, who to contact and who is responsible
- Provide guides, checklists, workbooks, courses and facilitated sessions
- Help you prepare better questions for your attorney, tax professional or financial advisor
Heirlūm does not:
- Draft, review, interpret or certify wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives or any other legal document
- Tell you whether a document is valid, enforceable or right for you
- Recommend specific legal strategies, investments, insurance products or tax positions
- Hold original documents, money or property on your behalf
- Serve as your executor, trustee, agent, fiduciary or notary
3. No professional relationship or privilege
Using our Services, including consulting and coaching, does not create an attorney-client, accountant-client, fiduciary or other professional relationship. Your communications with us are handled under our Privacy Policy and, for consulting clients, your Service Agreement. They are not protected by attorney-client privilege.
4. No guaranteed outcomes
Good planning reduces confusion. It cannot guarantee how a court, financial institution, agency or family member will act. Examples, stories and case studies on our site are illustrative.
Testimonials reflect one person's experience. Your results may differ. If anyone giving a testimonial received a discount, free service or other benefit, we will say so next to the testimonial.
5. How we use artificial intelligence
Our work. We use AI tools, including Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's ChatGPT, across our work: to research, draft and edit our website, emails and guides, and to help us prepare materials for courses, workshops and consulting. A person at Heirlūm reviews and approves everything we publish or deliver. AI-assisted content can still contain errors, so treat it like the rest of our content: general information, not advice.
Your information. We don't enter your personal information or planning details into AI tools, and none of it is used to train them or stored in them. If that ever changes, we will update our Privacy Policy before it does.
6. Referrals and third-party professionals
We may suggest types of professionals or name specific attorneys, advisors or other providers. A referral is not an endorsement or guarantee of their work. You choose whether to hire them, and they are responsible for their own services.
We do not currently pay or receive referral fees. If we ever receive a fee, commission, affiliate payment or other benefit from a provider we mention, we will disclose it clearly where we make the recommendation.
7. Accuracy and timeliness
We work to keep our content accurate and current, but we don't promise it is complete, error-free or up to date for your state. Information is current as of the date it was published or last updated.
8. Links to other websites
Our Services may link to websites we don't own or control. We aren't responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.
